Designing for Educational Institutions
Educational Institutions provide an interesting challenge
because most content for the sites is managed and often not
controlled by any outside force. Meaning that pages and subsites
can often look dramatically different than the main sites
and the maintenance for these sites are done my office staff
with little to no experience with the web.
To overcome this obstacle, the use of familiar interfaces
and tools is necessary, as well as a design which either matches
the site, or creates an identity it's own, which is both clean
and easy to update.
